Application Guidelines for Preservatives

Preservatives – Application Guidelines for Construction Coatings Production

1. Product Overview: A broad-spectrum preservative specifically designed for water-based coatings, free from formaldehyde and low in VOCs. It effectively inhibits bacteria, molds, and yeasts, ensuring that coatings remain odorless, stable, non-swelling, and mold-resistant during production, storage, and application.

2. Core Functions: Broad-spectrum bactericidal and bacteriostatic effects with prolonged protection; formaldehyde-free, low odor, environmentally safe; suitable for wide pH ranges; stable system without decomposition; maintains paint color, viscosity, and odor; prevents internal can deterioration and wall mold growth.

3. Application scope includes wall latex paint, exterior wall coatings, waterproof coatings, water-based slurries, putty, and elastic coatings.

4. Production Construction Step Addition Phase: The mixture can be added during both the initial slurry preparation stage and the late paint mixing stage. Method: Direct addition followed by thorough mixing. Recommended addition concentration: 0.1%–0.3%.

5. Environmental requirements: Production should be conducted at room temperature, avoiding strong acids and strong oxidizing agent systems.

6. Storage and Maintenance: Store in a sealed container, protected from light and in a cool place. Storage temperature: 5°C–35°C. Protect from freezing and sunlight, and keep away from heat sources. Shelf life: 12 months.

7. Precautions: Do not mix with strongly oxidizing materials; avoid skin contact. In case of accidental contact, rinse immediately with clean water.
