Application Guidelines for Defoaming Agents

Defoaming Agent – Production and Application Guidelines for Architectural Coatings

1. Product Overview: A water-based specialized defoaming agent characterized by rapid bubble disruption, long-lasting foam suppression, and excellent compatibility. It eliminates bubbles generated during production, mixing, and application processes, preventing pinholes, shrinkage cavities, fish-eye defects, and bubble marks in paint films.

2. Core functions: Rapid bubble burst, long-lasting foam suppression without shrinkage or oil spots, no impact on recoating, improved coating film flatness and smoothness, enhanced construction leveling, reduced bubble defects, compatible with various application methods including mixing, roller coating, and spraying.

3. Application Scope: Latex paint, stone-like paint, textured paint, elastic coatings, water-based primers, water-in-sand, and water-in-water systems.

4. Production and construction steps: Add in two stages: Grinding stage: 0.2%–0.4%; Paint adjustment stage: 0.1%–0.3%; Total addition amount: 0.2%–0.7%. Low-speed stirring is sufficient, without requiring high shear rates.

5. Operating Environment Requirements: Operating temperature: 5°C–40°C, suitable for conventional production environments.

6. Storage and Maintenance: Store in a sealed, cool place, protected from freezing and high temperatures. Use after slight separation and shaking to ensure efficacy. Shelf life: 12 months.

7. Precautions: Do not add excessive amounts to avoid shrinkage and reduced adhesion. Conduct compatibility testing prior to use.
